Welcoming the new year is always a special occasion. At Briarlea Care Home in Evesham, we strive to make it memorable for our residents. The evening was full of good food, laughter, and a bit of a boogie. New Years Eve is a lovely way for our residents and staff to come together and celebrate our community.
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
The event was set in our garden room, adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations. As we never use agency staff, every carer was a familiar face to our residents. They were on hand to ensure everyone felt comfortable and included in the festivities.
Engaging Activities for All
We understand the importance of engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents.
First, we put on our glad rags and had lots of fun taking selfies with fake moustaches and glasses. Then the musical playlist had everyone tapping their toes and joining in with applause. For those residents who love a dance, there was always a member of staff waiting in the wings to become an impromptu dance partner!
Delicious Festive Fare
No celebration is complete without delightful food, and our New Year’s Eve party was no exception. Our kitchen team went the extra mile to prepare a New Years Eve buffet. It catered to our various dietary needs to ensure everyone could tuck in and enjoy.
We enjoyed party classics such as sandwiches, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, pork pies and crisps. There were also sweet treats like tarts and cupcakes to delight every palate.
Fostering Community and Connection at Briarlea Care Homes Evesham
One of the most valued parts of New Year’s Eve at Briarlea is the opportunity it gives for residents to connect with one another. Socialising is at the heart of our community, and events like this foster friendships and a sense of belonging.
It was heartening to see residents engage in conversations and share stories of New Years gone by. All whilst creating new memories together.
Looking Forward to the New Year
As the clock struck midnight, we gathered to welcome the new year with a toast of bubbly. It was a wonderful party and testament to the vibrant community we have at the care home.
For 2025, we want to continue our mission of enriching the lives of our residents at Briarlea Care Home. We look forward to many more joyous occasions with our residents.
