As many of you will know, we are fanatics about food here at Briarlea. We pride ourselves on our home-made cuisine and use local produce where possible – such as free range eggs from nearby farms, as well as plums and blackberries from our garden orchard.
However, over the past few months, our catering team have been much busier than usual…as they’ve been juggling their regular meal service alongside a complete refurbishment of the Briarlea kitchen!
The kitchen was completed last month, meaning Briarlea’s residents now enjoy food prepared in a shiny, purpose-built unit. Our designs met the approval of the Food Standards Agency, who awarded Briarlea’s kitchen a 5-star hygiene rating on their most recent inspection. We couldn’t be happier!
We’ve also listened to what dishes residents would like to see served, and launched a new rolling menu to cater to these suggestions. A new cook, Jamie, has joined Briarlea’s kitchen team, while staff and residents continue to cook up a storm at our regular cookery club, making delectable treats like Bakewell Cupcakes and Coffee & Walnut Loaf.
Briarlea is keen to grow its kitchen team further. So if you love to cook and are looking for a part time role (in a brand new kitchen!), then reach out to us today.
