I know we have at Briarlea. And this week, we certainly didn\u2019t let Brexit, travel bans and border closures put pay to our holiday plans. <\/p>\n
As, for a bit of fun, we decided to give our residents the chance to fly on Briarlea Airways. Evesham\u2019s number one airline.<\/p>\n
Everyone was given their ticket and a brand new passport \u2013 printed that day by Her Majesty\u2019s Passport Officer, Joanne (who coincidentally doubles as our care home manager).<\/p>\n
Lisa, fresh in from her day job as Briarlea\u2019s chef, acted as our glamorous cabin crew, diligently checked everyone\u2019s documents. She quite enjoyed the change of scenery as she ushered our eager tourists into the makeshift plane galley. [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”http:\/\/www.briarleacarehome.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Blog-Article-3_Image-2.jpg” _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”default” title_text=”Blog Article 3_Image 2″ hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]We were then whisked away to Paris by our pilot Jim, who looked very dashing in his captain\u2019s hat.[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”http:\/\/www.briarleacarehome.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Blog-Article-3_Image-3.jpg” _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”default” title_text=”Blog Article 3_Image 3″ hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]Our virtual vacationers were greeted at their destination with a delicious spread of French patisseries \u2013 including croissants, pain-au-chocolat, and hazelnut crepes. Bon Appetit![\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”http:\/\/www.briarleacarehome.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Blog-Article-3_Image-4.jpg” _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”default” title_text=”Blog Article 3_Image 4″ hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]We all enjoyed a caf\u00e9 au lait beneath the Tricolour, before taking a few snaps behind a virtual Eiffel Tower. There was even time to dash to Duty Free before our journey back home. [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”http:\/\/www.briarleacarehome.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Blog-Article-3_Image-5.jpg” _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”default” title_text=”Blog Article 3_Image 5″ hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]Like people all other the world, we\u2019ve had to get used to staying at home this year. Thankfully, we\u2019ve been able to keep ourselves occupied. Briarlea has a busy programme of clubs and activities. But, nevertheless, it was still fun to indulge in a bit of escapism. <\/p>\n
We may not get to the real Paris anytime soon. However, we\u2019ve still got plenty to look forward to. Now we\u2019ve received our second vaccine dose against Covid-19, we\u2019re planning to see much more of our family and friends over the coming months. <\/p>\n
Pity we rushed the duty free.
